Notice under The Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012

In IIn March 2022 the County Council intends that the Chief Operating Officer will consider the following item: Award of contract for Microsoft Licencing Solution Partner (LSP).

The purpose of the item is: To approve the award of contract to the recommended supplier for the supply of Microsoft Enterprise Licencing.

Under the requirements of Regulation 9 of The Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012 the Council is required to give 28 days notice of a key decision identified within the scope of these regulations. It is considered that item referred to above would be a key decision and for the reasons of urgency outlined below, compliance is considered impracticable, and an exception to Regulation 9 is therefore sought under Regulation 10 of the above Regulations. It is considered impracticable to comply with the requirements of The Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012 because:

The Council’s current Microsoft Licence Agreements expire on 31st March 2022. The newly appointed Microsoft Licence Software Provider will require confirmed licence quantities as soon as possible after the conclusion of the Procurement to enable them to submit an order to Microsoft at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the new agreements.

Accordingly a copy of this notice shall be available pursuant to Regulation 5(6) for at least 5 clear days prior to the decision being taken in March 2022.
